About Blank Squirrel

Blank Squirrel is a brand new Criminal Investigation/Renovation Reality show coming this summer to CBS! But, during the weekend, it moonlights as a little indie music hamlet founded by caleb mueller, the man the world has to blame for Decomposure. He made up the label on the spot in aught-seven after label he was signed to collapsed, and since then, Blank Squirrel has been the place that millions of discerning music fans have avoided like deadly contagion. caleb is apparently too stupid to notice this, and has continued to believe that somehow the empty reward of howling misshapen self-expression into the bottomless pit of the world's stony rejection will justify all the wasted effort it takes to run an unprofitable label incompetently.

Demo Policy

Let's be honest here: music doesn't make a lot of money. Image makes money. Unfortunately, images also require money to propagate, and Blank Squirrel isn't exactly flush with spare piles of crispy cash. But we do love music, and we would like to provide a home for artists on the margins with real points of view and creative drive. So, please email or snailmail a demo to the appropriate address on the right. There's a lot of options we can pursue, though we can't guarantee that we will do anything with it (even if we really really like it), but the possibility is most definitely there.

About Decomposure

Decomposure is an ongoing project by caleb mueller to convert hundreds of hours of thought and self-analysis into paltry sums of money, just so that he can project a larger narrative over his life and avoid confronting his own crushing unspecialness. He's been doing it under a thin veneer of professionalism since 2004, and continues to daydream about it in his Kitchener home/office even as his time is increasingly saturated with big-person responsibilities, bad time-management decisions, and a nagging sense that he will never dig himself out of this work hole. He lives pretty contentedly with his wonderful wife, Nicole, his brand new daughter, Selah, and his dog, Stuart. He did have a rabbit ("Bunny"), but he had to put it down.

Everything's sent out personally by caleb mueller, who really wants you to listen to the music, so your order will be handled quickly and happily. Many albums are available for free with the option to donate. Sadly, most people don't, but the few who do often get a little surprise something as thanks. Although now that i've written that, it's slightly less surprising.
